SWIM TEST ESSENTIALS
|
If you have just been asked to do a swim test by a rowing captain and you have no idea what they were talking about, you are in the right place! This is a short guide on swim tests telling you everything you need to know. If you have any more questions reach out your captains! General info Every rower and cox at the University of Oxford is required to pass a swim test no matter if you have years of experience or are just starting for the first time. However, to allow people to get on the water to experience rowing, each individual is allowed 5 water sessions before it is mandatory that you pass a test. This means that if you have not passed a swim test and you have done 5 outings, it is essential that you do not sign up for another! In the event that you fail your swim test, you are not allowed on any more outings until you have passed. Once passed, swim tests remain valid for 6 years |
