Iffley Tank + Swim tests

HOW TO REACH IFFLEY ROAD SPORTS CENTRE:
Iffley Road Sports Centre is a very important location for us right from the start of our rowing careers. It hosts two key locations – the Rosenblatt Swimming Pool & the rowing tank.
The address for Iffley Road Sports Centre is Iffley Rd, Oxford OX4 1EQ. You should find it if you travel down Loverose Wy, which branches off Iffley Road just south of Stockmore St.
Signage should be clear, but if in doubt, follow the google maps link below which directs you to the reception entrance, which has plenty of space to lock your bike.

HOW TO REACH THE ROWING TANK:
The rowing tank is a crucial piece of (very large) equipment that we use to learn & develop our rowing abilities. It is essentially a block of concrete with two rows of 4 ergs (rowing machines) each with an oar (4 bowside & 4 strokeside) surrounded by water. It is used to practice your technique without the obstacles that arise on the water. Here your tank leader can assess and provide feedback on individual & crew abilities, which will then be worked on through a series of drills. It is located in a small building alongside the running track belonging to Iffley Road Sports Centre.
Once you have reached Iffley Road Sports Centre, you should enter the reception area and head to the desk opposite the entrance. Inform the receptionist that you are expected to join a tank session with St Anne’s College, and they will open the gates past the far left end of the desk. Once you have passed the gates, proceed through the corridor to your right, and exit the building through the doors at the end. Turn left and continue down that path alongside the running track. You will reach a small building –  continue past the first set of doors until you reach a single door. You should wait outside this door for the individual leading the tank session (unless told otherwise) to avoid disturbing another crew’s session. If in doubt, message your captain or the main group chats.
